Software Designer Image Processing

Designing and implementing high-end imaging solutions in a multi-discipline environment


Your career as Software Designer Image Processing

You will start in one of the multidisciplinary project teams consisting of experts with different technical backgrounds e.g. software, electrical, mechanical and chemical engineering. In your team you are responsible for creating clear specifications, making efficient and innovative design choices regarding image processing software solutions.


With your drive, strong interpersonal skills and your ambitious attitude you are continuously looking for opportunities to push our ‘state of the art’ image processing software development techniques further. You connect functional and algorithm design with implementation knowledge to create thoroughly optimized high-speed software implementations for our printers. Depending on the application, the software will produce print data, provide inline analysis of scans to check engine state or allow calibration of essential machine functionality. Your solutions are robust yet flexible, so that they can be deployed in multiple products and configurations.


You translate requirements into a functional and technical design, rightly balancing functionalities, features, lead-time and cost. You ensure your design meets the project requirements, and your implementation fits the overall software architecture.  In addition, you have an active interest in processing technologies and architectures such as multi- and many-core, GPGPU and SIMD, and understand how these technologies can help you reach your goals.


This position is based in Venlo, the Netherlands. You report to the Manager Embedded Software Development.

Who are we looking for?

You are a talented team player with strong planning/project management skills as well as the ability to collaborate and influence and inspire people. Also you show a strong drive for image processing. Your pro-active, open-minded and inventive attitude enable you to drive software development by taking decisions, being entrepreneurial, creative and passionate.


Furthermore you meet the following criteria;
•Background in Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
•Academic level of working and thinking. Master’s degree, PDEng, or PhD is highly preferred
•You are recently graduated, and possibly you have professional working experience in software development. You have a strong affinity for image processing software development and model based development
•You have affinity with both implementation and functional aspects of image processing
•Experience with C/C++ programming, familiar with OO-design, real-time behavior implications
•Working knowledge of performance optimization, multi-core implementations, GPGPU (Cuda, OpenCL), and/or SIMD intrinsics is preferred.
•Excellent communication skills in English – verbal and written. Profound knowledge of Dutch is a plus
•Permission to work in the Netherlands, and no relocation required


Department

The Embedded Software department (about 100 specialists) focuses on developing software for image processing, to control paper movements, drive print heads, mechanisms for error handling/recovery and maintenance procedures.
